Ball movement coach Mark Williams speaks exclusively to melbournefc.com.au in the third of a nine-part series about how the Melbourne players are tracking this pre-season

Michael Evans (rookie)
Coming from Western Australia, Michael is a midfielder who is really good on both sides of his body. He has some fantastic skills and has a great tank. He is quick and neat. Michael needs to continue to adjust to the loads of AFL training. He needs to get himself into a routine, build his body and make sure he educates himself.

Jack Fitzpatrick
Now in his second year at the club, Jack had a shoulder injury at the end of the 2010 season. His main has been getting his rehab correct and making sure he continues to manage his loads. Putting size and weight on continues to be a priority for Jack. He is also honing in on the way we want to play and how he can benefit the team.

James Frawley
James represented Australia in Ireland, so he started pre-season slightly later. But his main focus since pre-season started is really to build on his All-Australian season. In particular, if he builds on his form, knowledge of the game and continues his preparation with his body, then he will take his game to another level in 2011. His leadership is also continuing to build, particularly down back.

Colin Garland
It was great to see Col return in 2010, after playing just one game in 2009 due to a serious foot injury. We were very pleased he got through last season in a fantastic manner. He adds so much flexibility to the team, and already over the pre-season he has added size. The knowledge he gathers through reading about the game and studying vision is fantastic. In turn, this has helped his leadership.

Max Gawn
Maxy has been in the rehab group again, after he came to the club via the 2009 Draft having had a knee reconstruction. Once again, this pre-season has been all about getting Max’s body right. He has honed in on building a routine and doing everything to the best of his ability. Max needs to keep working on his preparation.
