YOUNG-GUN Jack Trengove is available for this Saturday night’s clash against Brisbane Lions at the Gabba, while midfielder Brent Moloney is a 50/50 chance to play.

Trengove has missed the past two matches with a hip injury, but is no longer on Melbourne’s injury list.

Moloney missed last Sunday’s 73-point win at the MCG after suffering a corked thigh during the early stages of Melbourne’s 11-point loss to Fremantle at Subiaco Oval in round 16.

The Demon leader was initially named to play against the Sydney Swans, but was a late withdrawal, due to the injury. This resulted in forward Austin Wonaeamirri coming in as Moloney’s replacement.

Skipper James McDonald, who collected 24 disposals for Casey against Collingwood at Victoria Park in the VFL on Sunday, is also in the mix to return against the Lions.

McDonald played his first match - at any level - since round 11 against Carlton.

However, half-back Jack Grimes (hamstring) will miss another two to three weeks and first-year Dee Jordan Gysberts (back) could miss a couple of matches or up to a month.

Still, the club is unable to provide an exact date for his return.

Gysberts pulled up sore after the clash against Collingwood in round 12 and has made slow progress with his rehabilitation.

In better news, versatile tall Stef Martin and half-back/winger James Strauss are off the injury list.

But forward Ricky Petterd remains out for the rest of the season with a shoulder injury.

Rookies John Meesen (foot - season), Danny Hughes (ankle - 3-4 weeks), Jake Spencer (back - 2 weeks) and Michael Newton (quad - 1 week) are still sidelined.

But Rhys Healey (hamstring) faces a fitness test this week.
