Blease missed a compulsory meeting on Tuesday morning after arriving late at the Club.
The Match Committee made the decision to stand Blease down for this weekend’s game, as well as handing down a financial sanction.
Senior coach Mark Neeld said, “We are building a high performance environment at Melbourne. We value greatly the need for preparation.
By missing this meeting Sam has compromised his preparation for this weekend’s game, and therefore won’t be available for selection this week.”
Blease will be available for selection for Melbourne’s Round 2 NAB Cup game against Collingwood.
