Former Melbourne Demon Daniel Ward tells of his gambling addiction

GAMBLING reduced Demon Daniel Ward to the depths of despair. He tells his story in the hope of helping others. In another place, behind closed doors and in front of faces as darkened as his own, Daniel Ward would start:"Hello, my name is Daniel Ward. I am a gambling addict. I was a liar. I was a bad person. I wanted to be dead. I've hurt every person I've ever loved."Ward might not be the AFL's highest-profile gambling addict, but he might be the most devastated one. For 15 years he was on the chase. He started off throwing money at the horses. In the end it was all sports in a multi-bet frenzy.
