CHRISTIAN Salem says there is no doubt Melbourne has come up against the best three teams in the competition in consecutive weeks.

Salem said having played Fremantle, then the Sydney Swans and now Hawthorn this Saturday at the MCG was as tough a trio of teams to play in successive rounds.

“The last three weeks are pretty tough and I personally reckon we’re playing against the three best teams in the league,” he told Dee TV.

“It’s good for us to get the experience and see where we’re at, and seeing what it takes to become a top three club.”

Salem said he was still learning the half-back role, but embracing the opportunity.

The second-year Demon had his best game yet last round, notching up 24 disposals against the Swans, and was one of Melbourne’s best in its round six loss.

“I thought it was the most consistent performance I’ve put in for the club and in saying that I learned a lot from that [match],” he said.

“Moving forward, hopefully I bring that to the plate each week.”
