JORDAN Lewis has been handed a one-week suspension for striking Williamstown’s Nick Mellington in the VFL on Sunday.
The Melbourne veteran was playing his first game for the Casey Demons since returning from an ankle injury and was reported for an incident in the second quarter.
Due to Lewis’ clean record at VFL level, he was able to accept the one-week ban with an early guilty plea.
The 33-year-old’s clash with Mellington was deemed as intentional, but the impact was considered to be low.
Lewis will be unavailable for VFL and AFL selection this weekend.
