FORWARD line development coach Paul Satterley reviews the Melbourne-listed players who played in Casey’s 28-point win over Northern Blues at Casey Fields on Saturday afternoon

Casey 13.14 (92) defeated Northern Blues 9.10 (64)

Rohan Bail:
Rohan sustained a knee injury early in the game and did not return to the field.

Dom Barry: Dom continues to improve his composure when he has the ball. He is working hard on his contested efforts to complement his overall game. Dom had 13 possessions and three tackles for the game.

Tom Couch: Tom played a solid game finishing with 27 disposals. He was second only to James Magner for hardball gets. Some of his work in congestion was important, as he fed the ball out to teammates in space on numerous occasions.

Troy Davis: Troy played as a key forward for the entire game. He is applying the same principles to how he has performed in defence this year. His speed and work rate is enabling him to get to a high number of contests. Troy's overall contribution was 17 disposals, seven marks and three shots on goal for 1.2.

Tom Gillies: Tom defended well and is working on getting more involvements offensively. He had 14 disposals for the game.

Jesse Hogan: Jesse had an excellent game both offensively and defensively. He worked hard all day for front position in marking contests and was rewarded with 10 marks. Jesse kicked 6 goals. This is a component of his game he continues to put a lot of work into. He had 21 disposals and kicked six goals, which was a major contribution to the win.

Neville Jetta: Nev played forward combined with a midfield role. He had 10 disposals for the game, but needs to be better. His defensive work to apply pressure is creating opportunities for the team however we need more offensive involvements from Nev, particularly as he uses the ball extremely well.

James Magner: James had another good game. His clearance work and strength to work the ball forward was a positive. He had 27 disposals, five tackles and five inside 50s. Once again, he led the side for hardball gets.

Cam Pedersen: Cam was an omission from the AFL side due to the return of James Frawley. He responded really well with a terrific game. Cam backed himself in the aerial contests in defence with eight marks. He also had 22 disposals and a team high 11 spoils.

James Strauss: James played his best VFL game for the season due to his willingness to be aggressive with his running and speed. His rebound from defence included 24 disposals, which was a real positive for James and the team.

Rory Taggert: Rory missed the previous week due to illness and he really applied himself in this game. He led the team for tackles with seven and also worked hard up the ground with seven marks. He had 14 disposals and kicked a goal, which was a solid effort.

Luke Tapscott: Luke worked extremely hard to have more offensive involvements. He had 19 disposals and kicked two quality goals from set shots, which capped off his game. His application on and off the field to keep improving has been a real positive.

Josh Tynan: Josh is playing a consistent brand of football at present. He had 25 disposals from half-back and took a couple of strong, aerial efforts, which are once again becoming a trademark of his game.
