DAY three of Dees in Darwin takes on the drama of Airport or perhaps Flying High, when the Demons are forced to make an emergency landing on their way to Tennant Creek.
Dee TV star Russell ‘Robbo’ Robertson speaks to Rohan Bail immediately after the incident to find out what happens.
“We’re lucky to be alive,” Bail says.
“I was sitting in the cockpit and we took off and all of a sudden there was some smoke and a lot of heat coming into the cabin. I just thought ‘that must be pretty normal, the pilot’s pretty calm’. Then he (the pilot) said ‘put your seat belts on, we need to land’.”
Once in Tennant Creek, the Demons conduct a football clinic and spread the important message of promoting Trachoma elimination via the 'Clean Faces, Strong Eyes' campaign.
“The important message is the trachoma elimination and it’s a real privilege for us to be here and it’s great for the club to be part of something as important as this,” chief operating officer Matt Green says.
