MELBOURNE tough nut Luke Tapscott has no case to answer, after the match review panel took no further action on his report for making forceful high contact against Carlton midfielder Kade Simpson from Sunday’s clash at the MCG.

The match review panel said the ball was loose and Simpson was attempting to take possession. As Simpson gathered the ball, Tapscott met him with a bump.

After viewing all available footage and speaking to the umpire who laid the report on the day, it was the view of the panel that there was no forceful high contact in the bump, and no further action was required.

Tapscott will be free to take on the Gold Coast Suns this Sunday at the MCG.

He has played five matches this season, missing just round two.

Tapscott has played 34 matches since making his AFL debut in 2011.
