MELBOURNE has upgraded defender Mitch Clisby to its senior list for 2014, but has delisted a further three players in preparation for the first list lodgement on Thursday, October 31.
The Demons have delisted utility Rory Taggert and rookies James Magner and Nathan Stark.
They join James Sellar, Troy Davis, Tom Gillies, Josh Tynan and rookie Tom Couch, who were delisted soon after the 2013 season.
Aaron Davey, David Rodan and Joel Macdonald have retired.
Clisby, who claimed the final place on Melbourne’s list last December, impressed in eight matches this season, when he became a regular in the second half of the season. He missed the final three rounds due to suspension.
Magner played 19 matches for the Demons from 2012-13, including 17 in his first season.
Although Taggert was on the cusp of selection, when he was named an emergency in the final round against the Western Bulldogs, he did not play an AFL match for the Demons.
Stark, whose only season at the club was 2013, had a tough year, when he managed just five AFL Victoria Development League matches, due to knee, groin and ankle injuries.
