WITH another injury blow for Melbourne, Jack Viney spoke to DeeTV about being set to miss up to three weeks with a ‘hot spot’ in his foot.
The scan of Viney's foot showed no fracture, however, he will be confined to a moon boot for a couple of weeks.
While the hot spot isn’t a direct result of an injury, Viney is guided by the medical staff as to what potentially caused it, saying, “Being a first year player is a reason, and I also hurt my ankle in Round 2. That changed the way I moved my foot around and put different pressures through my foot, so both those things eventually contributed to me having a hot spot in my foot.”
Viney expects to be in the moon boot for another two weeks before gradually making his way back to the main training group.
Despite initially being “shattered” when first finding out he was set to miss up to three weeks, Viney has chosen to take an optimistic approach, saying, “ You can stay down or you can get up and work towards your comeback.”
