NEXT year will mark the 10 year anniversary since Troy Broadbridge was tragically killed in the 2004 Boxing Day tsunami.

Troy’s death will be commemorated by a trip to Thailand to honour the work of The Broadbridge Fund – an organisation established by Troy’s widow, Trisha Silvers.

Silvers said, “The return to Thailand in 2014 is important to me, as it marks the 10 year anniversary of a disaster that changed millions of people's lives, including mine and those of Troy's teammates, family and friends.  I have put together a trip for next year that will give people a Thailand experience and will assist the community of Phi Phi Island.”

The heart and soul of The Broadbridge Fund is the Broadbridge Education Centre – a school built in Troy’s honour on Phi Phi Island.

In the lead up to the anniversary trip, The Broadbridge Fund will be hosting fundraising events to assist with the operational costs of The Broadbridge Education Centre.

On Thursday 21 November, the first fundraiser called ‘It’s time to... Go Thai!’ will be held at Bangpop Melbourne.  For $120 per person, the night includes Thai street food, Singha beer and wine, soft drink and entertainment.  To book, click here or contact Trisha Silvers on trisha.silvers@reach.org.au.

The Melbourne Football Club, in conjunction with the Reach Foundation, are charity partners of The Broadbridge Fund.
