CASEY Scorpions notched up their third consecutive win of the season defeating Essendon by 82 points at Windy Hill on Saturday.

Casey 25.11 (161) defeated Essendon 11.13 (79).

General Manager of football Josh Mahoney was impressed with several of the Melbourne listed players performance.

“There were good performances across the board for the players at Casey today," he said.

“The midfield including James Magner, Jordie McKenzie and David Rodan all performed well, with ruckman Jake Spencer and Jack Fitzpatrick."

Spencer who had 37 hitouts and six tackles continually provided the midfielders with first use of the ball.

Fitzpatrick also performed well kicking three goals and helping with ruck duties also gathering 17 hitouts.

Mahoney praised the consistency of the players in the first three matches.

“A number of players are now playing consistently good football and are putting their hands up for AFL selection," he said.

“We have seen in recent weeks through Luke Tapcott and Michael Evans, that good VFL form over a number of weeks does transfer into good AFL performances."

Youngster Jesse Hogan was very good again,  kicking four goals and finishing with 19 posssions.

Major possession winners were Magner and McKenzie, who finished with 31 touches each, David Rodan 24, Tom Couch 23, Mitch Clisby and Josh Tynan 20. Spencer and James Strauss finished with 19 each.

Named in the best players were Rodan, Spencer, Hogan, McKenzie and Magner.

Casey will take on Williamstown next Saturday night at Casey Fields at 6pm.
