THE LONG road back for Melbourne's Jack Trengove has been put into sharp focus, with a photo showing how the luckless midfielder's left leg has wasted away since he had another round of foot surgery in October.
The 23-year-old posted a photo on social media this week which showed significant muscle loss while his foot has been protected in a cast.
"If anyone knows the whereabouts of my calf then please contact me. It's been missing for about 8 weeks now #dontmisslegday #babymoomoos," Trengove wrote in the caption.
Trengove's navicular troubles restricted him to playing only the first two games in 2014.
He re-aggravated the injury when he returned to running in September and required more surgery to remove screws in his foot and to have a bone graft.
It is unclear when the former Demons captain might return to action and Trengove said post-surgery that he will not rush back to play next season if his foot was not right.
Trengove, who was the second pick in the 2009 NAB AFL Draft and has played 81 career matches, has been spotted riding a four-wheel scooter at Demons training recently.
