COACH Paul Roos says the search for his successor is right on the agenda at the moment, now that the season is over and the players are on their break.
Roos said plenty was happening “behind the scenes” but a timeframe is still yet to be confirmed.
“Given the season has just finished, we had to park it a bit … because of exit [player] interviews and clubs [being] in finals and you’ve got to be really mindful [of them],” he told Dee TV.
“We’ve had some really good discussions with candidates and clubs and done some real research behind the scenes.”
Roos said the club was looking to bolster rather than make significant changes in the football department.
“I think that’s part of the review we all do. Coaches have got a review as well – how has our performance been and what do we need to do to get better?” he said.
“We want to get coaches away [on their break], but there is still a lot to be done with trade and draft week and reviewing the performance of our own performance.
“[We also want to look at] what staff we can add. I don’t think there will necessarily be changes – I think we’ve got a really good staff of coaches – but can we add one or two?
“The succession plan is a big part of that, but we need to continue to keep getting better and providing a much greater service to our players and that’s the goal in the off-season.”
