KEY FORWARD/ruckman Jack Fitzpatrick will make his AFL debut against Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval on Sunday, after he was named in Melbourne’s final 22 on Friday.
The Demons have also named recalled Matthew Bate, after he accumulated 38 disposals for Casey last round, and Rohan Bail, who will play his first match since round eight.
The interchange consists of Fitzpatrick, Bate, Luke Tapscott and Jeremy Howe.
Earlier on Friday, midfielder Tom Scully (hip flexor) was a late withdrawal and replaced by defender Joel Macdonald in the 25-man squad.
Macdonald has now been named an emergency, along with Tom McNamara, who has been omitted after playing his first match since round 21, 2009 last round.
First-year rookie Daniel Nicholson is also an emergency.
Fitzpatrick, who was selected at No.50 in the 2009 NAB AFL Draft, comes into the side after impressing at Casey.
He booted four goals last week and has progressed in the backend of the season.
The 200cm tall has endured several injuries since joining Melbourne, which included nine matches on the sidelines from rounds eight to 16.
Bail missed 12 matches from rounds nine to 20, due to a knee injury.
He has spent the past two weeks with Casey, play one match in the reserves and then in the seniors last round.
As already known, forward Liam Jurrah was ruled out earlier in the week due to a wrist injury, sustained against Gold Coast Suns last round.
Versatile tall Stef Martin will play his 50th AFL match.
It will be the first time an AFL match will be staged at the better known test cricket venue.
