Last week, Melbourne player Stef Martin joined MS Readathon community representative Daniel Alvarez for a visit to Casey Grammar School, aiming to encourage students to read and raise funds for people living with multiple sclerosis.

Daniel kicked off the presentation by speaking to the students about MS, as well as the importance of raising funds to help find a cure and provide services for people living with this mystery disease.

Stef then spoke to the students about the importance of reading. Stef is an ambassador for Melbourne Football Club’s soon-to-be-launched Read Like a Demon program, encouraging children to pick up their favourite book throughout the month of June and raise much needed funds for the MS Society.

Stef – who has played every game this year - and last weekend kicked the first two goals of his career, was also very happy to answer questions about playing AFL and gave out MS Readathon bookmarks to the children, who all listened intently.

Stef and Daniel were thanked by Casey Grammar students for attending their assembly, which ensured that Casey Grammar students will be strong supporters of the MS Readathon and will follow Stef’s progress throughout the rest of the season.

The Melbourne Football Club encourages all students across Australia to take part in the MS Readathon, and contribute to this extremely worthwhile cause.
