MELBOURNE has locked in young-gun midfielder Angus Brayshaw until at least the end of the 2018 season.
Brayshaw, who was the third player selected at last year’s NAB AFL Draft, signed a two-year contract extension – on top of his initial two-year deal.
Manager of football operations Josh Mahoney said Brayshaw’s commitment was an important one for the club.
“We’re very pleased that Angus has agreed to a further extension to his current contract,” he said.
“In the time he’s been at the club, he’s shown the reasons why our recruiting staff rated him so highly.
“We think he’s going to become a very important player in the midfield for us in the future.”
A classy player, Brayshaw is the son of AFLCA chief executive and former North Melbourne player Mark and the nephew of media personality James.
Brayshaw’s contract follows the recent signings of skipper Nathan Jones and exciting second-year Demon Jay Kennedy-Harris.
