FORMER Melbourne and Hawthorn player Ken Feltscheer celebrates his 100th birthday on Tuesday.

Feltscheer played four games for Melbourne in 1935-36 and a further 43 games for Hawthorn from 1937-40 and 1943.

Although the AFL doesn’t have complete birth/death records for every player to have played in VFL/AFL history since 1897, Feltscheer's milestone to reach 100 is believed to be one of few in history for a senior-level player.

He made his VFL/AFL debut in round 17, 1935 against St Kilda at Junction Oval.

In that Melbourne side included such names as Percy Beames, Ron Baggott, Maurie Gibb, Allan La Fontaine, Jack Mueller and Norm Smith.

Feltscheer’s only other match for Melbourne that season was against North Melbourne at the MCG the following round – it was the only win he played in at the club.

His other two matches for Melbourne came in rounds 13 and 14, 1936 against Fitzroy and Geelong respectively.

Feltscheer later played senior matches for Hawthorn from 1937-40 and in 1943.

He made his debut for Melbourne aged 20 years and 84 days.

Feltscheer wore No.22 for Melbourne.
