FOR Melbourne midfielder Dom Tyson, a recent school visit proved to be a blast from the past.

Tyson visited his former school, Canterbury Primary School, as part of the club’s work within its heartland region.

During the visit, Tyson was interviewed by students for the school’s radio show.

He fielded questions about his football career and, as a former school captain of Canterbury Primary School, about his leadership experiences.

As part of Melbourne’s work to re-engage with its heartland, Tyson, along with other players, will continue to visit schools, junior football clubs and Auskick centres within the region throughout 2015.

The midfielder is also an ambassador for the club’s Read Like a Demon program, which uses football as a vehicle to teach students the importance of reading.
