MELBOURNE will visit Leongatha as part of next year’s Telstra AFL Community Camps.

The Demons will visit the Gippsland region from February 14 to 15.

The camps are now part of the build-up to the NAB Cup or they intertwine with those matches.

Clubs will visit communities throughout Australia to conduct training sessions, visit schools, nursing homes, hospitals and conduct NAB AFL Auskick clinics.

AFL national and international development general manager David Matthews said the camps provide an opportunity to kick off the Australian football season.

“It’s a great opportunity for football fans in regional locations to see the players up close as they prepare for Round One,” Matthews said.
