COACH Paul Roos says his side is looking forward to the challenge of taking on the in-form Adelaide Crows at the MCG on Sunday, as Melbourne starts its second part of the season after its mid-season break.
Roos said taking on Adelaide, which has won its past five matches, was a great opportunity for his charges to pit themselves against a top eight team.
“First and foremost, they’re a really good team and they’re in good form,” he said on Roos’ Views.
“The anniversary [of Phil Walsh’s passing] is hard to [comprehend]. You look back and a year’s already gone by and it’s affected everyone in footy.
“We just need to know that we need to play really well.
“They’re a good side and have been in good form for six weeks, so it’s going to be a tough game and we’re looking forward to it.”
Meanwhile, Roos said Heritier Lumumba (concussion) and Lynden Dunn (hamstring) were set to return from injury this weekend.
“’H’ is coming back playing, Dunny is coming back playing and [Angus] Brayshaw we saw a couple of weeks ago. He’ll play again this week, so there are a few coming back,” he said.
