JACK Viney has been labeled a “true professional” by senior assistant coach Simon Goodwin.
Viney, who is now one of the official leaders at the club, has been a shining light in 2016.
He has polled 22 votes in the AFLCA votes this year, along with North Melbourne tough-nut Jack Ziebell, and trails only Sydney’s Luke Parker (29), Gold Coast’s Tom Lynch (28) and Hawthorn’s Sam Mitchell (23).
Goodwin said Viney was a player who prepared “really well” every week.
“It’s a credit to the way he’s developed over the time, and what we’re seeing now is a byproduct of what he’s been able to put in, in a number of years,” he told Melbourne TV.
“He recovers, does all of the training, does all of the extras and we’re starting to see the rewards.
“What we’re seeing with Jack is a great example – not only for everyone within the footy club, but for all of the younger players – and what development can do for you.”
