VIC METRO and Western Australia have provided a combined 10 players to this year's AFL youth girls' All Australian team, with Queensland and Vic Country also well represented.

Metro easily beat Western Australia to win pool A at year's AFL youth girls' national championship in Melbourne. An initial All Australian squad was announced after the carnival in May, with the bulk of the those players featuring in a curtain-raiser to last Saturday night's AFL women's All-Stars match between the Western Bulldogs and Melbourne at Whitten Oval.

The selection panel was AFL Victoria female football manager Darren Flanigan (chairman), former AFL Queensland female development manager Julia Price and leading women's players Aasta O'Connor, Daisy Pearce, Lauren Arnell and Alicia Eva.
