ON SUNDAY 3 July we are celebrating Melbourne’s diversity by welcoming everyone to the MCG. Melbourne is a multicultural city, with people from all over the world calling it home either temporarily or forever. The Melbourne Football Club want to see as many people as possible at the MCG as we aim to create the most culturally diverse crowd at an AFL game.
We want you to come along and represent your country when we take on the Adelaide Crows. We will be offering the opportunity for 73 individuals from 73 different countries to come along and be involved in a ceremony at half time on the MCG. To apply, click here.
To further celebrate, we will also be offering anyone with an international passport a free ticket to the game. All you need to do is click here, and use the promo code MELBOURNE to register for and print your tickets to the big game.
Melbourne v Adelaide
Sunday 3 July
3.20pm MCG
Festivities will commence before the game, with Band Mystery and Shiamak performing beneath the 73 national flags on the concourse outside Gate 3. Whilst there you can also sample a variety of international food choices, fly paper planes with China Southern and share what you love about Melbourne on our graffiti wall. You can also bring the kids to the AFL Playground outside Gate 6 to get a taste of the game before heading inside.
The entertainment will continue inside, with the parade of 73 national flags at half time, as well as plenty more entertainment as well as the game itself. Head to bays M3-M4 and M11-M12 for the best spot to enjoy all there is on offer- this will be an event not to be missed!
