MELBOURNE will take on Adelaide and Hawthorn as part of the 2020 Marsh Community Series.

Announced on Monday, the Demons will open their pre-season competition at a familiar venue, hosting the Crows at Casey Fields on Saturday 22 February at 4.40pm.

They will then return in week three of the tournament, travelling to Launceston to go up against the Hawks at UTAS Stadium.

The Friday night clash, which has been locked in for 6 March at 7.40pm, will be one of two matches held in Tasmania throughout the series.

With Casey Fields having been a regular pre-season venue in recent years, general manager of football operations Josh Mahoney said it was pleasing to have it again feature on the fixture.

“Melbourne’s presence in the South-East continues to grow, and it’s fantastic that we get another opportunity to bring AFL back to the area,” he told Melbourne Media.

“Casey Fields will have been completely resurfaced, making it a great venue to play our opening match.

“We’re looking forward to engaging with the local community, in both Cranbourne and Launceston, and seeing all the red and blue supporters out to support the boys next year.”

The series will span across a 19-day period, from Thursday 20 February to Monday 9 March, and consist of 18 matches.
