ANGUS Brayshaw has suffered yet another head knock in his return to the VFL on Sunday afternoon.

The 21-year-old was an inclusion to Casey’s side for the clash with the Northern Blues at Preston City Oval.

But he lasted just two and a half minutes in the first quarter before falling to the ground after a head high collision at half-back.

“It was inconspicuous a little bit,” senior coach Justin Plapp told melbournefc.com.au.

“Obviously he’s not good … he looked pretty ordinary coming off the ground, so fingers crossed he’s OK.”

The pick number three in the 2014 NAB AFL draft was slow to get up, before being assisted off the field by trainers.

Plapp didn’t have an update on his condition at the conclusion of the game, but conceded his immediate playing future is in doubt.

“I suppose they will go through the same protocols that they have to and make that assessment throughout the week,” he said.

Brayshaw last represented Casey in round two, where he sustained another head knock in the second quarter against North Ballarat.

“It’s not good for him, because the kid wants to play footy and he’s got these little issues around that,” Plapp said.

The incident today is Brayshaw’s fourth concussion at VFL level in the past 12 months, causing serious concern around his future in the game.

“The significance of it I’m not real sure, but it’s not good,” Plapp said.

Brayshaw has played 33 games at AFL level, including the first two matches of this season.
