Melbourne will again closely monitor co-captain Jack Viney's fitness after the star midfielder hurt his foot in the Demons' win over St Kilda a fortnight ago. Coach Simon Goodwin said Viney was a week-to-week proposition and more will be known on his status later in the week. Goodwin has a few decisions to make, with Christian Salem, Jack Watts, Sam Frost and Tomas Bugg all pushing their cases. Salem is available to play after missing last week's VFL game through suspension. Watts spent time through the midfield and up forward, gathering 20 disposals, 12 marks and kicking one goal in Casey's 24-point win over Williamstown. Frost's defensive efforts won praise, while Bugg had 24 touches and 12 tackles after returning from a six-week suspension. Corey Maynard (20 disposals and 13 tackles), Jay Kennedy-Harris (22 disposals and 19 tackles) and Ben Kennedy, last week's carryover emergency, are the others who might come into the selection equation. – Ben Guthrie
