MELBOURNE’S Friday training session at Casey Fields has been switched to Gosch’s Paddock.
The reason for the change is due to the ground being prepared further for the upcoming NAB AFL Women’s competition and the JLT Series.
Melbourne’s Friday training session will now be at 9.30am at Gosch’s Paddock.
General manager of football operations Josh Mahoney said the club didn’t want to change the training sessions, but needed to keep an eye on the ground in the lead-up to official AFL/AFLW matches.
“We spend a lot of time planning our pre-season and in-season training sessions and don’t like changing sessions once they have been set. However, we have decided to support the Casey council,” he said.
“We intended to train at Casey Fields last Friday and tomorrow (Friday), but to support the ground being the best condition possible for the upcoming AFL Women’s season and our JLT Community Series game.
“We have decided to change these sessions with sessions at Gosch’s Paddock.”
Meanwhile, Melbourne will host a Casey family day at Casey Fields on Saturday, February 25 as part of its AFLW/AFL double-header against Carlton.
Further details of the Casey family day will be confirmed in the lead-up.
