AHEAD of Melbourne’s ANZAC Day Eve clash against Richmond on Tuesday evening, the Club is advising all patrons to allow extra time and arrive early to the MCG.
All gates will open at 5pm, while a pre-game ceremony, that will see both football clubs pay its respects to the fallen, as well as the men and women who are currently serving, will commence at 6.45pm.
Please note that when the Last Post and National Anthem are played during this ceremony, all entry gates will pause operation.
With the ANZAC Day Eve clash being in its fourth consecutive year, the Club is anticipating a large crowd to fill the MCG.
Limited general public tickets are still available, but are selling fast. As a result, fans are recommended to secure tickets through Ticketek sooner rather than later.
Similarly, general admission members are strongly advised to upgrade to a reserved seat to guarantee their entry into the ground. Members can do so by entering their membership barcode on Ticketek, and will receive a member discount on the price of a reserved seat ticket.
It is anticipated that there will be no general admission access on the ground level for this match.
Patrons are also encouraged to explore their transport options in getting to and from the MCG.
For safety and security reasons, public parking in Yarra Park has been closed, with only a limited number of parks available for disability permit holders via gate 3.
Brunton Avenue will be closed to traffic from 4.30pm until 11pm, as well as Jolimont Street and Jolimont Terrace – except for vehicles dropping off mobility-impaired patrons.
There are also several transport changes that may impact supporters returning home after the game.
On the Frankston Line, there will be no services between Carrum Station and Frankston station from 9pm.
On the Pakenham/Dandenong Line, there will be no services from Caulfield to Westhall stations from 9pm.
On the Hurstbridge Line, there will be no services between Clifton Hill and Macleod all day, and up to Greensborough after 9pm.
The Burnley, Lilydale, Belgrave, Alamein and Glen Waverley lines will not be impacted, and replacement buses will be available along the affected lines.
