This round sees the return of The Welcome Game, Melbourne’s marquee sporting event for the celebration of diversity and inclusivity.

Regardless of where you’re born, whatever your religion, whoever you love, and whether you are a regular at the footy or attending for the first time – our game welcomes you. Welcome to Australian football. Welcome to the iconic MCG. Welcome to the Melbourne Football Club.


The Welcome Game Activity Hub will be located in Yarra Park in between Gates 2 and 3, and will include plenty of activities to get involved with:

  • Welcome Game Ticket Collection
  • Face Painting
  • Caricature Artist
  • Arts & Crafts
  • AFL Victoria inflatable
  • GIF Booth
  • BBQ
  • Handball target

National Sports Musuem

  • Learn all about the history of AFL, test your skills in our Game On interactive area and score some great giveaways
  • Open 10am – 1pm via Gate 3 at the MCG
  • Kids in free, adults 50% off

It’s Sunday Funday which means kids go free! Enjoy a day of footy fun for the whole family with plenty of activities and giveaways around the ground, including:

  • Footy card swap meet
  • Personalised footy cards
  • Roaming MARVEL superheroes
  • Woolworths playground

The MARVEL activation hub will be located in Yarra Park in between Gates 5 and 6, and will include:

  • Avengers Agility Course
  • Hawk Accuracy Challenge
  • Photo opportunities


Quarter Time: Hogan’s Highball, presented by Haymes Paint. Watch 3 contestants try and mark the super highball, with balls launched from the footy cannon!

Half-time: Join us at half-time for the official Welcome Game Flag Parade, including performances from various multicultural groups!

Three-quarter Time: Demon Dash, presented by New Balance. One contestant will race the Demon Dash LED with a special crowd offer on the line!


Visit the Club Hub outside of Gate 3 for membership purchases, enquiries and scarf collection from 10.30am until 1.20pm.

Memberships can be used to gain access to the game. If you’re an unrenewed member who received their card in the mail, visit a membership tent to activate the card. If you’re a new member and sign up at the ground, you will receive a ticket to gain entry.

Alternatively, beat the crowds and pre-purchase your tickets through Ticketek.
