Match Preview:
Newly appointed coach Jade Rawlings will start his 2018 campaign with a trip away against the Coburg Lions on Sunday. After a strong pre-season, Rawlings has his troops ready for the season ahead.
The Demons won three out of their four practice matches giving them confidence coming into the season-proper. After a strong showing, albeit a loss, in the opening game against Williamstown, Casey were able to string three wins on the trot against Port Melbourne, Box Hill and Frankston. Coburg were defeated in all three of their practice matches.
Casey have got the better of Coburg in their most recent encounters, winning their past three clashes. Their most recent clash was in Round 15 last season when Casey triumphed by 43 points at Casey Fields. Casey also defeated them in Round 7 and in Round 17 2016.
The game will kick off at 1:00pm on Sunday at Piranha Park in Coburg.
