THE Casey Demons King Gee Trademark Players of the Week have been announced.
Defender Casey Sherriff was the pick of the bunch for coach Damien Keeping in the round five VFLW win.
Sheriff had 22 disposals and a game-high eight marks in the win over Williamstown. Keeping was over the moon with Sherriff’s performance.
“Relatively new to the game, Casey has taken the first few games to find her feet at the level. However on the weekend she was able to reach a level of performance that had significant impact,” Keeping said.
“Casey’s decision making to come off her player and impact contests was a particular highlight of her game.
“Her intercept marking and decision making with ball in hand denied Williamstown forward 50 entry and propelled our attack from half back.
“We look forward to Casey continuing to apply her free running and long delivery over the remainder of the season.”
For the men, Corey Wagner was the standout for Jade Rawlings.
The former North Melbourne player had 24 disposals and six tackles in the game and was a vital part of the win according to Rawlings.
“Corey has had a very consistent four week block. He was an influential player against Williamstown as a midfielder. He works very hard at his game and plays with a spirit that we love at Casey,” Rawlings said.
Thanks to King Gee, both players will receive a $150 voucher.
