MELBOURNE will challenge Steven May’s one-match rough conduct charge at the AFL Tribunal tonight.
May was offered a one-game suspension by the Match Review Officer, after an incident involving Brisbane’s Jarrod Berry in the final term of Saturday’s JLT Community Series match.
In the initial finding, Match Review Officer Michael Christian determined May’s contact to involve careless conduct with medium impact to the head.
Berry walked off the ground unassisted and was not concussed.
The defender will learn the outcome of the Tribunal appeal later tonight.
