GOING to the footy is set to be easier and more affordable for Melbourne members and supporters in 2015.
With the release of tickets for the 2015 Toyota AFL season, there will be general admission seating available at every Melbourne game, including in certain areas of level one at the MCG.
Access to games is a simple process for Melbourne members, who will be able to scan their membership cards at the gate to enter the ground on the day.
Melbourne CEO Peter Jackson said the changes to ticketing would have a positive impact on supporters attending Melbourne games in 2015.
“The changes to ticketing this year are pretty simple. It is easier to get to the footy and it’s more affordable and that’s good for everyone,” Jackson said.
“Whether you’re a Melbourne Member or an MCC Member, going to the footy will be as simple as scanning your membership ticket on the day.
“If you’re a family, there’s some really positive changes this year, including ‘Kick on the G’, cheaper food and free entry on Sundays for kids under 15.”
A wide range of initiatives will help make going to the footy a more affordable experience.
Families can attend a Melbourne game for just $50, with single tickets starting at $25 for adults and $5 for kids, while recent food price cuts at the MCG will help make the day cheaper.
In another bonus for supporters, all reserved seats at Melbourne’s round five game against Fremantle – including those on level one and behind the goals on level two – will be just $25, with members able to upgrade to a reserved seat for just $6.
Meanwhile, Melbourne supporters will also receive the opportunity to watch two games for just $15 in round eight.
All supporters who pre-purchase a ticket for round eight will receive access to both the women’s and men’s matches against the Western Bulldogs at the special price.
Melbourne’s fixture is also family friendly – with the majority of its games scheduled at times suited to families.
Sundays are set to be a fun day for Melbourne supporters – all children receive free general admission access to Sunday games, while a majority of the club’s Sunday fixtures will also include access to the MCG ground post-match for “kick on the ’G”.
For those looking to reserve seats, a pricing guide for every game will be available on melbournefc.com.au, with ticketing for every Melbourne home game at the MCG processed through Ticketek.
Pre-sale tickets to all games go on sale to Melbourne members from 12pm on Wednesday 18 March, with the pre-sale period closing at 5pm on Thursday 19 March.
Tickets to the general public then go on sale at 10am on Friday 20 March.
