CHRISTIAN Salem says it’s an open race and anyone can win this year’s premiership.
Speaking on 1116 SEN, Salem said the past two premiers suggested it was up for grabs again in 2018, after the Western Bulldogs (2016) and Richmond (2017) produced stunning seasons to win respective flags.
“It could be anyone’s year. It was a disappointing end to last year and we’ve all come back and put in the work,” he said.
“We’re all ready to go and we have put a lot of confidence in each other.
“We are all a bit older now and a bit more mature – we’ve had a pretty harsh learning curve but we have come off better from that.”
Salem, who has played the opening two games of the season, will line-up for his 49th AFL match against North Melbourne at the MCG on Saturday.
