The Casey Demons are excited to celebrate our players' exceptional performances in the 2025 AAMI State Games, with both the men's and women's teams achieving impressive wins over the SANFL.

The inaugural Rebel VFLW State Team, featuring Casey's own Sophie Casey, Meg Macdonald, and Lauren Jatczak, delivered a historic 27-point win against the SANFLW at Alberton Oval on Friday night. A swift four-goal burst in the opening quarter set the tone for the match, showcasing the team's dominance from the outset.

Leading the charge was Sophie Casey, who was one of six awarded best for her standout performance across half-back. Her pressure and ball use were instrumental in the VFLW’s victory, while teammates Macdonald and Jatczak also played key roles in the Big V’s success.

History was made on Saturday as the Smithy’s VFL State Team with Casey's Riley Bonner, ended a 23-year drought with a nail-biting 18.6 (114) to 15.13 (103) triumph over the SANFL at Tanunda Recreation Park. It was the VFL’s first win against their long-time rivals since 2002.

Shout out to Riley, Sophie, Meg, and Lauren for their exceptional contributions to these wins across the weekend. Their dedication and skill not only brought glory to the Big V but also exemplified the spirit and talent that define the Casey Demons. We can’t wait to see them carry this momentum into the rest of the season and continue making a positive impact on the game.
