MELBOURNE may be bolstered by the return of two Demons this week, with Blaithin Mackin and Lauren Pearce both potential inclusions for Saturday’s clash against Richmond.

Mackin (calf) and Pearce (wrist) will need to tick off a final training session on Thursday if they’re to be available for the Week 8 game.

Sam Batterton, Melbourne’s AFLW High Performance Manager, provided an update on the duo on Tuesday.

“They’ve both been integrating into training this week,” Batterton told Melbourne Media.

“Loz has one more thing to tick off, then will do a full training session this Thursday.

“Blaithin has ticked off all of her markers today, but both of them will need to get through the session on Thursday to be available for Saturday.”

Gab Colvin, who sustained a concussion during Melbourne’s Week 7 game against Adelaide, will remain on the sidelines under required protocols.

“Gab presented with some symptoms post-match and then was put into concussion protocols,” Batterton said.

“She’ll work through that and will miss this weekend’s game.

“We’ll look to have her available for the Hawthorn game in Week 9, but this is dependent on how she goes through those protocols."

Tayla Harris (shoulder), Grace Beasley (knee), Jacinta Hose (knee) and Aimee Mackin (knee) continue to work through their respective rehab schedules.

“It’s obviously such a disappointing outcome, injuring herself so close to the beginning of our season,” Mulholland told Melbourne Media. “Although we are thousands of kilometres away, we are wrapping our arms around Aimee and will offer whatever support we can in these challenging circumstances. “There’s lots to work through as we decide how to approach the rest of the season, however, our thoughts at the moment are focused on Aimee and her recovery.” *Inactive Player
