Tim Lamb, Melbourne AFL List Manager, praised the young forward’s desire for continued improvement.

“We’re really pleased that Daniel has signed on for another two seasons,” Lamb said.

“He’s really developing his craft and provides us great flexibility, and we’re excited to see where he can take his game over the next two years.”

Originally hailing from Albury, Turner was selected at pick number 24 in the 2021 mid-season rookie draft.

The 22-year-old has played ten games at AFL level, making his debut in Round 13 of 2022.

Playing just one match that year, he continued to build his craft at VFL level with Casey Demons.

In 2023, Turner added a further two games to his tally, but injury woes hampered his ability to play in the senior squad.

Originally picked as a defender, he transitioned to the forward line in 2024 and quickly made impact, now with a further seven games under his belt.

The exciting news comes as Melbourne prepares to take on Essendon for the annual Round for Reach.
