MELBOURNE AFLW star Tayla Harris will be sidelined for a period during pre-season, after sustaining a shoulder injury at the Demons’ pre-season camp in Anglesea last week.
The injury occurred during a routine drill, with Harris immediately leaving the track following the event.
Jessie Mulholland, Head of Women’s Football provided an update on the 27-year-old.
“Tayla has had a set back with an existing shoulder injury and so will be on a modified training schedule for a short period while she works through her rehab,” Mulholland said.
“While this is disappointing for Tayla, fortunately she won’t require surgery at this stage.
“Tayla is the ultimate professional and is already tracking well, by diligently following the advice of our high performance and rehab staff.”
Melbourne has just 53 days until the beginning of the 2024 season, with the Demons to take on Geelong at GMHBA Stadium on Saturday 31 August.
