It was a challenging day at the office for Casey as they fell to Collingwood by 15 points in Round 12 of the VFLW.

Despite creating several scoring opportunities, Casey struggled to convert, ending the match with 0.7 (7) to Collingwood’s 3.4 (22).

Meg Macdonald was a standout in the midfield, dominating the ball with 23 disposals, 13 tackles, and ten clearances. Her relentless efforts in the middle were crucial in keeping Casey competitive.

Niamh O’Neill showcased her determination with 15 disposals and five tackles despite missing out on three goal-scoring chances.

Tegan Williams contributed across the ground with 20 disposals, 16 hitouts, and four clearances, although she could only manage one behind from her forward 50 entries.

Shree Fairchild was a defensive powerhouse with 17 disposals, a remarkable 15 tackles, and six clearances, consistently applying pressure to the opposition.

Zoe Mitchell also put in a solid performance, collecting 15 disposals, seven tackles, and three clearances.

Casey’s forward entries were repeatedly thwarted by Collingwood’s resolute defence, who intercepted a majority of the attempts.

The Dees showed a glimmer of hope in the fourth quarter, dominating possession and increasing their inside 50s, but were ultimately unable to penetrate Collingwood’s stronghold.

Despite the tough loss, Casey's players displayed grit and determination throughout the match. They will look to bounce back and sharpen their scoring efficiency in their next game against the Western Bulldogs.

The Dees will need to regroup quickly and focus on converting their opportunities as they prepare to face the Bulldogs and hold on to their finals hopes.
