MELBOURNE have made one change to its side, as it takes the trip to Alice Springs to face Fremantle.
The Demons will be without Jacob van Rooyen this week after he reported some discomfort after main training this week.
GM of AFL Football Performance Alan Richardson provided an update.
“Jacob experienced some minor discomfort in his adductor at training today,” Richardson told Melbourne Media.
“Following further assessment, we have decided to take a cautious approach with this injury and Jacob will miss this week’s match.
“At this stage, we do expect him to be available for next week’s match.”
Daniel Turner will replace van Rooyen in the side after coming back from a calf injury which saw him miss Melbourne’s clashes against St Kilda and West Coast.
Turner’s move to the forward line has seen him hit the score board on multiple times, recording three majors against Richmond in Round 7 before injuring his calf.
Of the 23 players selected, one will be confirmed as Melbourne’s substitute 60 minutes prior to the first bounce.
Melbourne’s emergencies this week will be Jack Billings, Bailey Laurie and Ben Brown who will all make the trip to the Northern Territory.
Returning to Alice Springs for the 10th time, the trip is always highlight on the fixture for the Club and players as it serves as home away from home.
