Returning to Alice Springs

“We’ve really embraced the Northern Territory [and] Alice Springs. We’ve been there now for ten years, it’s a home away from home,” Goodwin said.

“We love getting up there. We spend a lot of time in community around Santa Teresa.

“We’re really proud of what we’ve done up there as a footy club and we’re really keen to get up there and play. Its a great opportunity for us against a really good team.”

Gawn available to play

“He pulled up really well. It was a corky that he was dealing with, and it seems to be getting better day by day,” Goodwin said.

“We monitored him closely post-game but he’ll train fully today and be available to play.

“The way he played last week was unbelievable. He’s a great leader of our footy club and he has an enormous presence in the way he plays he drives a big part of our game.”

Planning for Fremantle stars

“We look at Fremantle as an incredibly strong footy team. They’re strong through the middle of the ground, their midfield is very dynamic,” Goodwin added.

“They’re very well structured in all phases of the game. We’ve seen some huge growth in how they’re playing.

“We’re under no illusions of the challenge that we face with Fremantle.

“We’re really keen to put our best footy forward, we did that against St Kilda and the method in which we played.”

Mid-Season Rookie Draft Luker Kentfield

“It’s really exciting for us. He’s a really powerful key forward who missed a bit of footy, he’s still very young but he’s tough and competitive,” Goodwin said.

“He’s playing senior footy at Subiaco so we certainly don’t put any limitations on players that come into our environment. If they come in and they perform and they’re ready and understand how we want to play, selection is available for any player.

“He’s exciting. He’s good mates with Koltyn Tholstrup who came from Subiaco. We’re looking forward to looking at what he brings and seeing him deliver.”
