SKILFUL defender Jake Bowey will receive an immediate recall to the Demons' senior side to take on Carlton after missing seven matches with a broken collarbone.
Bowey was injured in Melbourne's Opening Round clash with Sydney in a courageous third-quarter spoiling attempt, and underwent surgery shortly after.
The fourth-year Demon has been training fully with the main group for over a week and has completed match volume sessions on the track.
Bowey Returns
"Jake Bowey who's been out for a while, he's done an incredible job in his rehab, he’ll play," Goodwin said.
"The work he's done, the physical preparation to get himself back in this position - we're really confident with his training the last few weeks that he's ready to go.
"We've got some selection decisions to make around that.
"I think that's exciting for our club. He's a high quality player."
Riding the Momentum
"You want to enjoy your wins, but you do it for 24 hours," Goodwin said.
"Clearly it gives a lot of belief to our playing group about what's possible in the way they're playing.
"But it's a new opponent, a new challenge and this competition doesn't allow you to get comfortable.
"Every week is a new challenge and the competition demands that you get better.
"That chance comes again tomorrow night against Carlton."
The Carlton Double-Headed Attack
“Clearly with Curnow and McKay, they’re fantastic players and have a huge impact on the game," Goodwin said.
“It's going to be an exciting area of the ground - it's an area that we value highly.
“Every time you play Carlton, those match ups are I'm sure why supporters come to the game and get along and watch, and why the games are so tight.
“There's no doubt that they're huge for them and you know, we back our defenders in to get the job done.”
Windsor’s Rising Star
“He's been unbelievably outstanding in the way he's gone about his business,” Goodwin said.
"I think when young players come in, you never put any limitations on what's possible for them.
"You have that conversation really early days about, age won't be a thing that will restrict you from playing AFL footy and he's embraced that.
"He’s been able to execute his role and and play to a level that's certainly helping transform a bit of our team."
