MELBOURNE Football Club is proud to unveil its 2024 ANZAC Day Eve guernsey, with the Demons set to wear the bespoke design for their Round 7 blockbuster against the Tigers.

The guernsey, designed in collaboration with New Balance, honours and celebrates the 90th anniversary of the Shrine of Remembrance, which was founded in 1934 as the National War Memorial of Victoria.

The historic guernsey design features the original blue prints drawn by Philip Hudson and James Wardrop, the two returned-soldier architects who won a competition in 1923 to design a National War Memorial to honour the sacrifices of Victorians during WW1.

11 years later, the Shrine opened to the public, and has served as a memorial honouring the service and sacrifice of Victorians and Australians in war, peacemaking and peacekeeping, ever since.

As is tradition, the names of the Melbourne Football Club players who lost their lives while serving for their country during the world wars feature on the back of the guernsey.

The design also features the ANZAC Appeal logo, with a percentage of proceeds donated back to the RSL’s ANZAC Appeal, supporting veterans and their families.

This year will mark the ninth chapter of the renowned ANZAC Day Eve clash. Richmond will host Melbourne in this year’s instalment; with a large crowd expected at the MCG, the match is now fully ticketed with no general admission access on the day.

Members and supporters can purchase their tickets for the blockbuster match here, with the first bounce scheduled for 7:25pm (AEST).

This historical guernsey will be available for fans via The Demon Shop in the coming weeks, thanks to our official apparel partner, New Balance.

You can also view the guernsey in a special display at the Shrine of Remembrance. The Shrine is open daily from 10am–5pm and is free to enter.
