CASEY Demons have launched their 2018 season at Bunjil Place, Narre Warren in the City of Casey on Tuesday night.
Casey’s VFL and VFLW teams were in attendance.
The night was a chance to celebrate the start of the new season, and recognise the outstanding work, which has gone on at Casey Fields in the past six months.
From major ground and facility improvements, new signage, technology upgrades and increased resources, the partnership between Melbourne, Casey Demons and the City of Casey has brought Casey Fields to one of the top tier two Australian rules complexes in the country.
Casey welcomed its VFL team – and with great excitement for the first time – its VFLW teams to season 2018.
The night included all playing members of both teams (except some members of Melbourne’s AFLW team, who were at the AFLW end of season awards night), coaching staff, all team support staff, the Springvale Football Club Board, Melbourne representatives, the Mayor of Casey, councillor Geoff Ablett and several Casey councillors. Staff and parents of players were also in attendance.
A wonderful turnout of more than 150 people celebrated in style at the brand new Bunjil Place, in the heart of the City of Casey.
Guest Speakers included Ablett, Josh Mahoney, Jade Rawlings and Col Garland, who all spoke of the great relationship, partnership and opportunities that exist.
They also spoke of the very real goal of Casey Fields becoming the number one tier two Australian rules complex in Australia, and the Casey Demons becoming the number one club in the land for player and personnel development.
Casey extends a huge thank you to all involved in putting the night together. It was a fitting way to launch the 2018 season.
