GENERAL manager of Casey football Peter Maynard says the development at Casey this off-season has been significant.

The former Demon, who played with the club in 1980-81, and now has two sons in the AFL – Corey at Melbourne and Brayden at Collingwood – has a wealth of experience in the football and commercial industry.

He said there was “plenty happening” at Casey, and he was passionate about what could be achieved at the club and in the City of Casey.

“It couldn’t be more exciting at the moment, because there is a lot going on,” he told melbournefc.com.au.

Maynard rejoined the club to head-up the new role at Casey Fields and has already seen a transition.

He has been joined by Matt Young (VFL/VFLW football operations manager), Rachael Lewis (events and admin manager), Kyle Docherty (NGA and community manager), Jade Rawlings (VFL head coach) and Colin Garland (VFLW head coach) in full-time roles.

He said it was “fantastic” what the club had already achieved in the off-season, with resources and relationships with partners being strengthened.

“We’ve been out here since October 1 and gone from three part-time staff last year to four full-time staff and two full-time coaches and we’re generating a fair bit of activity with the City of Casey,” he said.

“There are 22 years of a 30-year partnership [remaining], so the Melbourne Football Club and the City of Casey have really invested and increased in resources.

“We’re giving the partnership far more attention than what’s been possible in the past.”
