MELBOURNE youngster Jake Bowey has inked a new deal which will see him remain at the Demons until at least the end of the 2026 AFL season.

The 21-year-old, who was already contracted for 2024, signed the new two-year extension on Thursday afternoon.

Melbourne List Manager Tim Lamb said Bowey, with 47 senior games to his name, will be an important part of the club’s future and its ambitions.

“We are thrilled to have Jake extend his contract and we believe he will continue to play a pivotal role in our journey towards success,” Lamb told Melbourne Media.

“Jake has been a really strong contributor for the Melbourne Football Club, and we look forward to seeing what he can achieve in the future.”

Selected with pick No.21 in the 2020 AFL Draft and standing at the 175cm tall, the classy ball user from Sandringham Dragons has the versatility to play at half-back or push up onto the wing.

Bowey, who played a crucial role during Melbourne’s 2021 AFL premiership campaign, is also the son of former Saint Brett Bowey.
