MELBOURNE will add another chapter to its rich tradition of father-son draft selections, pre-selecting Kynan Brown as a rookie under the father-son rule.

The son of 146-game, dogged Demon defender Nathan Brown has earned his own red and blue guernsey with his own courage and work rate for the Oakleigh Chargers and Vic Metro.

Brown is a chip off the old block with his contested game and tackling among his strengths, with his consistent play for Vic Metro earning him the side’s best and fairest for his play at the National Carnival.

The Demons have got a good look at the 181cm midfielder, who trained with the club earlier this season and pulled on the red and blue twice already this year for the Casey Demons in the VFL, kicking a major in both appearances.

The inside midfielder kicked a bag of five goals for the Chargers in finals football this year, highlighting another string to his bow and a possible future forward of the football.
