MELBOURNE forward duo Eden Zanker and Kate Hore have taken out the title of dual leading goalkickers for the 2023 NAB AFLW season.
Both Demons made history this year, becoming the first two players to kick 20 goals in an AFLW season.
Zanker hit the milestone last week and was a culmination of multiple standout displays including a five-goal haul during Round 6.
The tall forward has reached new heights this year, becoming a consistent performer inside 50, her aerial contests a real strength.
As the team’s newly appointed captain, Hore has also been instrumental for the Dees in 2023, her quick skills and footy smarts shining in each game.
The skipper's best performance came in Round 2, where she booted five goals amongst 23 disposals, eight marks and six tackles.
Sitting at 19 goals heading into Round 10, Hore kicked one major during Saturday's match to equal her teammate's 20.
This is the first time a Melbourne player has taken out the honour since the competition began in 2017.
